Big sliders and multi-slide doors
Eight to sixteen feet of glass that rolls with one hand, seals against wind-driven rain and locks at more than one point.

The slider is the door everyone uses. A good one rolls on sealed bearings, sits on a sloped sill pan so rain stays outside, and stays square for decades. A multi-slide door goes further: three or four panels stack to one side, or disappear into a pocket in the wall, and most of the wall opens to the deck.
Signs it is time
- You lift the door to make it move
- Daylight or a draft along the bottom or the lock side
- Water on the floor after a south wind
- You want more of the wall to open, not just one panel
How it goes
- We measure the opening and check the header, the floor and the deck height on both sides
- You choose panel count, stacking or pocket, frame colour and hardware finish from samples
- On install day we set a sill pan and flash the opening before the door goes in
- We adjust the rollers and locks with you and show you how to clean the track
What moves the price
- Width and panel count
- Stacking versus pocket (a pocket means wall framing)
- Frame material
- Whether the opening grows, which needs a new header and a permit
- Interior trim and exterior finish work

Questions
How long is the house open?
For a same-size swap, the opening is open for a couple of hours, not overnight. Widening an opening is a framing job and the quote shows the extra day plainly.
Can you make the opening wider?
Often, if the header and the wall allow. That becomes a framing job with a permit. We say so at the design visit, before you fall in love with a size.
Start with a design visit.
About an hour at the house, with frame samples. You get a written quote that names the product, the glass and the warranty.
